Catch Up!

Welcome to the wild world of the Alberts! It seems that we have been insanely busy this month but yet it isn't really much exciting to write about! I just want everyone to notice Jason's fantastic art skills in the picture above! I always thought I was the artist in the family but he proved me wrong :)
Abby is getting to that age where she wants to hold anything and everything she can within reach, even our noses!

Here she is gearing up for Halloween!

Abby loves spending time with her Daddy!

Although she isn't looking at the camera, I thought she looked so stinkin' cute in this outfit, had to include it!
So as I mentioned earlier, we have been super busy this month. Last Saturday was the first Saturday this month that Jason and I were both home and then Jason already has plans for this next Saturday. Hopefully we will be able to spend some more time together in November! I did end up making some salsa but I froze it instead of canning it because one canning book I read said you shouldn't can tomatoes that aren't vine ripened because the pH won't be right. It said to freeze it instead. Hopefully it tastes okay! Hopefully we will have some more exciting (in a good way) stuff to write about next time. Read on to the other posts to see what else has been going on! Love you all!

"I love technology" - Abby

"Yes I love technology,
But not as much as you, you see
But still I love technology..
Always and forever
Always and forever!"
Okay, all of you Napoleon Dynamite fans, I may have butchered the words but if Abby were to have a theme song, that would be it. She likes her toys, but she LOVES anything that has buttons or turns on and off, she even loves the baby monitor receiver. We gave her Jason's old phone as a toy. It is actually pretty funny to watch her. We have been trying to help her learn to crawl better. If she is on the ground and you call her, she will get up on her hands and knees and rock back and forth. However, if you put a phone or remote control on the floor, she will do whatever it takes to get it!

She really loves the camera, it is hard to take pictures of her because when I do she just wants to grab it. In this picture we were on the floor side by side but as soon as I got out the camera, she was climbing all over me to try to get it!

Our new car

So, it was overdue yet we were hoping to wait until we had some other bills paid off. However, we couldn't really wait any longer to buy a new car. Sorry the pictures are in the garage but it is freezing here and I wasn't going outside if I didn't have to. It is pretty nice, much MUCH nicer than my old car.

The Sacrifice I can't make.

If it were possible for a vegetable to be an arch enemy, mine would be carrots. I HATE raw carrots (i'll eat them cooked but I don't LOVE those). I can't even stand the smell of them. Jason makes fun of me to no end because of this. Well, as I was making Abby some baby carrot food today, I decided to try one to see if maybe my tastes have changed. How can I as a mom tell my child to eat a vegetable when I won't touch it? So I took a small, tentative bite. Yep, I still hate them. I guess this just means that if there is a healthy food that Abby tries but can't stand, I can't make her because I would be a total hypocrite. Maybe someday my taste buds will start to like them but today definitely wasn't the day!

Abby is 8 months old!!

I can't believe this little munchkin of ours is 8 months old already. It seems like just yesterday we were bringing her home but at the same time it is hard to imagine what our lives were like without her. It certainly is an adventure! She has such a personality and she loves to laugh!! (Good thing she has a daddy who loves to make people laugh) She can now sit on her own pretty well!
No matter how hard I try, this child will only sleep on her stomach. I'll lay her down and she will just roll over automatically. At first I tried moving her to her back but she would just roll over again. It is a hopeless battle. Sometimes she will roll over and stick her face straight down in the mattress! I always have to turn her head to the side. It is kind of hard to tell in this picture but she will also often sleep with her bum up in the air. I think it is hilarious!!

She isn't quite crawling yet but she will get up on her hands and knees. To get around she either rolls or scoots like an inch worm. I push the coffee table to the side of the living room so she will have room to move around but it never fails, that is the first place she will roll too. I read somewhere that kids like to be in smaller spaces. I can remember for a long time when I was a kid (probably till I was in my early teens) my favorite place to take naps was under tables. I know, so weird!

If you look hard, you can see her bottom teeth, I tried getting a picture of her top teeth too but she doesn't stay still for too long!

She is quite the character and we have so much fun with her!
In other news, my brother and his wife had their baby on Saturday so she and Abby are exactly 8 months apart! That is pretty fun. It is the first time I am an auntie to one of my siblings kids so that is pretty exciting. I can't wait to see pictures of her!!
The weather has changed here so dramatically. I think it dropped about 40 degrees from one day to the next. We had to quickly pull all of the vegetables out of our garden. I currently have 35 pounds of green tomatoes that I am hoping will ripen so I will be able to can them. I am keeping my fingers crossed!
There is something so exciting about this time of year. I LOVE Halloween and Thanksgiving but most of all, I love the fall colors and I love wearing my favorite sweaters! (Sweaters are just so cozy and comfortable!) I am currently on the hunt for the perfect Halloween costume for Abby. It is a little hard when you have the perfect idea in your head but can't seem to find exactly what you are looking for. Hopefully soon :)
I will try to get more pictures on here soon! Love you all!
